A volunteer group – “Friends of the AONB” was set up in October 2021 to carry out practical work on maintaining paths, wells and other features within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The group meets once a month, weather permitting.
The group has recently been helping to improve access to Ffynnon Saint near Rhiw. This well was on the route used for centuries by pilgrims, heading for Bardsey Island. Since the area was deforested, access to the well has been blocked from the direction of Tŷ’n y Parc due to overgrowth and tree branches across the path. With the help of Llŷn AONB volunteers the path has been repaired and the site now accessible.
