Mariners Trail

Here's an interesting trail to explore, set up by Nefyn Town Council with a grant from the Welsh Government's Coastal Communities Fund. The Mariners' Trail is based on old paths that sailors used to walk back and forth between the Nefyn and Llanbedrog/Abersoch areas in the 19th Century. The route leaves the historic town of Nefyn to Abersoch across the peninsula and measures approximately 17 kilometres.

There is plenty to see and enjoy on the Mariners’ Trail. There are great views of the peninsula, the coast and sea from many places and the route passes through interesting natural habitats including rough grazing areas, marshes, forests and heaths. There are also many archaeological and historical remains to be seen along the way.
